Morecambe boss Jim Bentley and his assistant Ken McKenna have signed two-year contract extensions that will keep them at the Globe Arena until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Former defender Bentley, joined Morecambe in 2002 and has worked his way up. In June 2010, he was appointed player-coach, following a spell in a coaching role with the reserve team the previous season. He is now in his third full season as manager after taking charge of the Shrimps first team in 2011 in a player-manager role.

Bentley is thrilled to have pledged his future to the League Two club and told their official Chesterfield website: “I have enjoyed my last two years in management and I feel we are progressing both on and off the pitch.

“Kenny and myself are working really hard and no-one could be more determined to make this a success than the pair of us.”
