Anthony O’Connor Loan Extended At Torquay
Torquay United have extended the loan deal of Blackburn Rovers defender Anthony O’Connor by a further month.
The 21-year-old, who has yet to feature for his parent club, has made four appearances for League Two Torquay United since joining the club at the beginning of October. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international will now remain with the Plainmoor outfit until November 30th.
O’Connor has played for Burton Albion on an initial one-month loan signed in 15 August 2012, he made his professional debut for Burton, in a 3–0 defeat to Rotherham United. His loan deal at Burton was extended until January 2013 and again in January, this time until the end of the season. During his time at the Pirelli Stadium he became a regular in the first team making a total of 53 appearances in all competitions for the club during the 2012-13 season.
O’Connor’s extension comes just a day after Torquay boss Alan Knill confirmed the stay of forward Ade Azeez on loan from Charlton by a further month. Azeez has spent the past month at Plainmoor, making six appearances and scoring twice and will now remain with the Gulls until November 30.
