Sunderland Keeper Jordan Pickford Extends Brewers Loan

Burton Albion have reached an agreement with Sunderland to extend goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s loan stay at the Pirelli Stadium.

The 19-year old shotstopper joined the Brewers two months ago and will extend his stay with the League Two side until December 9. Pickford has previously played for Sunderland’s academy and reserve teams in addition to loan spells at Darlington and Alfreton Town. During his spell at Alfreton Town, Pickford kept five clean sheets in twelve games and had his initial month-long loan deal extended until the end of the season.

Pickford who has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-19 levels has made eight appearances for the Brewers this season, who currently sit 14th in the table.

On 2 August 2013, Pickford signed his first loan deal with Burton Albion and made his debut on 3rd August 2013 against Cheltenham Town. However his loan was ended on 17 August, when he was recalled by Sunderland after featuring 3 times for Burton. He later rejoined Albion on loan on 13th September 2013.
